Vision

The goal of IMTIS is to create a centralized and transparent database for distance calculations in short-haul goods transport. Since the abolition of the German Güterferntarif in 1993, there has been no common data base for distance and price calculations. IMTIS aims to provide such a platform, for both clients and service providers.

IMTIS is used to calculate combined routings for multimodal goods transport from seaports to destinations, usually consisting of both a main run (using inland water or rail for transport) and a truck transport (to the final destination).

Example: A freight container arrives in Rotterdam via cargo ship and needs to be transported to 48 Berliner Str., Heidelberg, Germany. First the container is loaded onto a barge and transported to the Contargo terminal in Ludwigshafen. It is then placed on a truck and transported to its destination. The recipient unloads it, and the truck transports the empty container back to the terminal.

• Distances are road distances. Their values depend on which route is selected between starting point and destination.
• Currently, IMTIS does not support car ferries, for example between France and the UK. If required, please contact a sales representative directly.
• Currently, German motorways and highways (Autobahn, Bundesstrasse) are the only toll roads considered. Both the total toll distance and the toll price reflect only toll roads in Germany.
• Contargo assumes no guarantee and no liability for the data and information delivered and made available by them being correct, complete, and up-to-date.
• We do our best to maintain reliable price information on this database - however, in questionable cases the price information of written quotations would prevail.
• All offers are only valid in connection with our General Terms and Conditions.
• Prices are only valid, if determined by using an exact address including a street name. Other than that, prices might only be used for indication.
• All prices are valid until 30.06.2021.
